WUSS 2024 Conference, Sacramento
[Western Users of SAS and Open-Source Software]
In September 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to attend WUSS 2024 (Western Users
of SAS and
Open-Source Software)
in Sacramento, California. The conference brought together experts and enthusiasts from various fields to
explore
innovative approaches to data analysis, focusing on both proprietary tools like SAS and open-source
solutions. I had the privilege of presenting my machine learning project, "Flight Delay Analysis
and
Prediction", where
I demonstrated predictive techniques using open-source data and machine learning algorithms. The project
received
positive feedback, reinforcing the importance of using data to tackle real-world problems.
Additionally, I was honored to receive a student scholarship, which not only recognized my academic
achievements but
also enabled me to participate in hands-on workshops and discussions. These sessions focused on
open-source tools such
as R and Python, allowing me to deepen my knowledge of how these
technologies are driving the future of
data analysis.
The conference provided a platform to engage with leading professionals, exchange ideas, and learn about
cutting-edge
techniques in analytics and machine learning.
